The Leadership Program is a two-fold plan that began in August of 2003.
The plan identifies and trains young teachers to become leaders in SDMEA. As the new leaders gain teaching experience, they are encouraged to run for SDMEA positions. This encourages an ongoing selection and placement of qualified educators within the SDMEA organization.
SDMEA takes the leadership role in offering music workshops around the state. The classes offered at ASCO are called leadership workshops to prepare the music educators of South Dakota to be of the highest caliber.
