Outstanding Young Music Educator
Overview
The SDMEA Outstanding Young Music Educator award is given in recognition of meritorious service and outstanding promise in music education. Nominees for this award should epitomize every facet of excellence in music teaching in South Dakota. The purpose of this award is to recognize and honor an SDMEA member for excellence in music education who has been teaching between three and seven years. More than one nominee may receive this award in a given year. Recipients of this prestigious award will be inducted at the SDMEA Music Educators Banquet during the All State Chorus/Orchestra concert weekend. The criteria for the award includes:
  1. The nominee must be an SDMEA member.
  2. The nominee must be actively teaching in South Dakota.
  3. The nominee must be in his/her third through seventh year of teaching.
