Distinguished Service to Music Award

1. Recipient must have a minimum of 15 years of service to music education.
2. The last years of service must be in South Dakota
3. Years of Service can be in any area of music education.

Distinguished Administrator Award

1. The nominee has served 10 years as an administrator at any level (elementary, secondary, or collegiate)
2. The last years of service must be in South Dakota
3. The nominee has shown active support of arts programs in their school

Outstanding Young Music Educator Award

1. The nominee must be in their 3rd- 7th year of teaching
2. The nominee demonstrates meritorious service and outstanding promise in music education
3. The nominee must epitomize every facet of excellence in music education.
